I just purchased an American Tonneau soft tri-fold from autoanything. With a little negotiating on the phone, and purchasing more than one item, I got it for $242 delivered. The other item I purchased was the DeeZee rubber bed mat, which fits perfectly.
The American Tonneau does not fit "perfectly". Given that the bed of the truck is not perfectly square (or should I say rectangular?), and the tonneau pretty much has to be square, the fit is never going to be "exact" or "perfect". But I would say the fit is very good, considering. It is very light weight, easy to install or remove, and seems to do a good job covering / sealing the bed. You can see the "bows", and it does stick up a little all around the edges, but I think it looks quite good, given the price. My main concern is how long it will last, this IS lightweight, not heavy duty by any means. Time will tell, for now I'm quite happy with what I got for the money spent.
And, for what it's worth, my shopping experience with autoanything was pleasant, and their shipping was fast.
My vote goes for Extang's Encore cover, had an issue with the first cover and Extang replaced it at their headquarters, this is why I bought a second cover!
Just got a TonnoPro and installed it this weekend.
List on their website is $279, purchased from Amazon for $259 with no tax and free shipping. They also have a $50 remote promo going so net to me will be $209.
I went with BakFlip F1. Wanted a tough cover. Had same style cover 15 years ago and the rubber covering over the hinges was destroyed by opening after an ice storm. This one doesn't stick up above the panels like the old one did so it should be less vulnerable to damage. Plus, I'll be more careful if we get covered in ice.
Not real fond of the lack of tie down straps to enable use when open, but it was easy to find right length rubber bungie to hold it down nicely. so far so good, but have only had it a month.
Holy crap. There's TONS of tonneau choices now.....
I last bought one in the late 90's for an s10. I think choices were basic snaps (sucked). A fiberglass hard cover, and just maybe something that folded....
I started looking at all the ones mentioned in this post,
I have the BacFlip tri fold on my F150 and the Revolver X2 on the F250. The X2 does a much better job of keeping water out plus no drain tubes required. I would buy either again but I do like the X2 better. Hard covers don't work for me because I need full access to the bed. My brother has a hard roll-up that retracts into a container in the bed. The container takes up a lot of space and he has problems when the cover has ice/snow stuck to it. I don't have those problems with my covers.
