Need help with BOO switch Voltage

Can someone HELP me understand if PIN 2 for the Brake On Off switch circuit on the ecu is supposed to receive a 12 volt signal from the brake switch, or does it output a voltage signal that utilizes the stop-lamp ground for recognition? Thanks working on a 90 FSB 5.8 E4OD.
