No doubt about it Carlite is high quality glass. I think Ford bought Carlite a while back to ensure they would get an uninterrupted supply of good quality glass. At that time Carlite was in financial trouble. Along the way Carlite was sold a few times and is now part of Japan's Central Glass. Central glass holds several glass companies in their portfolio.

If Carlite offered UV protection & heat reflecting glass I would pay the premium to replace my windshields with them.
