I recently picked up a '99 F250 Super Duty with the 6.8L V10 for a song. After replacing a fallen rocker arm on #5 intake and Fogging the engine with Sea Foam spray to loosen the sticking valve due to a bad fuel pressure regulator diaphragm it runs great except for when it gets hot the idle will get up to 1100rpms.
The temp guage reads less the half way up the scale and I don't smell any anti-freeze.
I have just ordered an Innova 31703 CarScan OBD2 + OBD1/ABS/SRS Scan Tool. The old Actron CP9135 I have is just a code reader.
What will cause a high Idle? I am thinking Cyl Head Temp Sender and I already replaced the Air Charge Sensor in the intake tube. Any one chacge the head temp sensor without removing the intake manifold??
