Engine stuck in high idle

I have a 2002 f250 auto 7.3

I am having a strange problem.

When driving the engine idles at 900 or 800, which I assume is high idle.

If I shift out of drive to neutral and back to drive it goes away, and idle how it should. 650 rum

Icp, ipr, ebps, ebps tube, regulated return, fuel mods good pressure, and new trans range sensor

What could be causing this, and what should be my next trouble shooting step? I am so lost on this thing.

Please and thank you

My first "next" step would be to monitor entgine oil temp and outside air temp, make sure they are reporting something that makes sense.

You also may want to take a look at the throttle position sensor....

Throttle position sensor reading 0 when stuck in high idle

Intake air temp within 10° of ambient outside temp. Probably closer to 5°

Oil temp is 203 when it's 100°f down here in alabama

I am going to scan for codes again after work.

Last time I got an high ebps reading code, so I put on a new sensor last night to take care of that.

The only other thing was AIH circuit low or something due to the delete mod.

Scan codes and only found was AIH circuit low because of my delete mod.

One thing I did notice is that my Map and my Ebps are not reading the same with KOEO???

Map was at 13.1

And ebps was at 14.9

Koen was:

Map 13.1 still

Ebps was 15.1

Could this be it!

First question is: Do your Brake lights work? And, your Parking Brake Light on the dash. Either should disable the fast idle.

Second, try disconnecting both the EVB Tube Sensor and EBPV Plug.

Third, check your MAP hose for a loose connection or hole.

Lastly, monitor Sensor Voltage rather than values.

BARO: 5 Volt Reference Circuit, @ 4.6 volts / 14.7 psig at sea level, decreasing as altitude increases.

EBP: 5.0 volts Reference Circuit, 0.8-1.0 vdc / 14.7 psig

EOT: 5 Volt Reference Circuit, 4.37 vdc @ 32°F, 1.37volts @ 176°F, 0.96volts @ 205°F.

IAT: 5 Volt Reference Circuit, 3.897 vdc @ 32°F, 3.09 @ 68°F, 1.72 @ 122°F.
