IMO, you have 3 choices. Find a 1992 E150 4.9L/E4OD, use the dipstick and tube (different than 1993).
Find a like 1993 use just the dipstick, or find a 1994/96, use its dipstick and tube.
Going to salvage yard today to try and find part. The pick'n'pull at Richmond has some econoline vans but doesn't say what they are, just the years.
Trying to understand the difference between vans, So that I fully understand what I'm doing! Any further help would be most welcome.
Do I have to pull from a club wagon or can I use any E or F van if the transmission type is the same and I pull filler tube and dipstick? in the years you quoted?
Does the engine size in the other van matter or just the correct transmission type?

1992 thru 1996 E150 4.9L/E4OD. Doesn't make any difference if a cargo van or window van or club wagon or club sandwich. There are no F series vans.
Since all these Econolines look the same, the 10th digit of the VIN is the year.
If this is the case then a replacement trans dipstick is a much easier process----simply make your own from existing or found OEM parts.
Certainly not helpful to someone needing to get on the road ASAP but could be useful info in the future.
The dipstick I got the other day appears to be too long, so I could double part of it at the top to make it the correct size. it came from a 93 or 94 wagon with the same transmission (can't remember which one). can't understand why its too long!
case/pan junction? I would have to take pan off again yes? finding actual length and adjusting seems the easiest way to go. problem is finding the actual length
I thought this would be easy to remedy (silly me)!
Thanks everyone for trying to help, I appreciate it.

Run the stick down outside the tube. Mark where it meets the case/pan junction.
Help with F3UZ-7A020-B! Looking replacement Dipstick
Hello all,
I am looking for a replacement for my missing transmission oil dipstick. I can not find one! Did you ever have any luck? If anyone knows it's overall length and level markings so I could get one made I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance!

Wow. This thread is 2 years old.
Length does not matter.
It could be 16feet long.
Full, running, in Park is even with the pan/case connection.
