'85 E-150 w/ 302
Seems simple enough, but apparently I am in the twilight zone
. I have been to the wreckers, even called the dealer, and no one seems to have a clue about the dipstick and tube for my engine, because the tube goes into the block right above where the oil pan bolts on, back between cyl 7 & 8. They can find ones that go into the front timing cover or directly into the pan, but not into the block (my son has an '82 Continental and it has the dipstick and tube in exactly the same place - I'd steal his but the one for the van is musch longer to travel to the front of the engine - and anyway, he's using it!).So, a) I am in the twilight zone, b) all these parts people are in the twilight zone, or the 302's in both my van and my son's Continental aren't 302's
.Is there anyone out there that can enlighten me on this subject?
Thanks,
Mike
for my 80 351w None of the autopart stores or even the ford dealer could tell me anything. They keep trying to give me the dipstick for the block when I need one for the oilpan.
Good luck
