So last night an jerk at my job who was seen drinking and sleeping while on the clock put roughly a quarter of a tank of gasoline into my F250 powerstroke.I had half a tank of good diesel, I drove maybe 5 miles from work to home and the truck ran fine..how much damage could have been done, police report and insurance claim have been filed but need my truck fixed today
Full system draining is needed. Your luck it did not go BOOM on the way home
with a 33% mix in it. Any problems might not show for many miles down the road.
Don't drive it to a shop but have it towed. Gasoline is day compared to diesel.
Dry meaning it has less lubrication qualities and will damage the injectors. My worry
would be breaking an injector tip off into the cylinder. Then you talking some big $$.
Changer all 8 after then get all the bad fuel out of the system. But don't run till they
are all replaced.
A good drain, flush and refill with fresh diesel along with some fuel additives as well as new fuel filters should be all that's needed by the sounds of things. Dare I ask, how did you find out gasoline was added to the tank? More importantly how and why? Just curious.
