Is it possible to use a 1967 firewall pad in a 1965 2wd? The reason I ask is I don't want to pay $250 for one of the ABS plastic ones when you can get a 67 for $80.
Thanks! I think I will order one and see how it fits. From looking at the pictures it seems the only big difference is where the wiring goes through the firewall.
Just received the firewall pad. I got one on e-bay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/191496187169?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITIt is made of what appears to be 3/32 inch thick neoprene rubber with a 1/2 inch thick jute backing. I did a trial fit on a fire wall out of a parts truck and I think it is going to be just fine. It seems everything on the passenger side is exactly right all the holes for the heater are OK. On the drivers side the steering column and the brake mount seem to be in the correct spot. The wiring is a different story. None of those holes line up and will have to be cut for the 65 wiring and the other holes plugged. But for $79 with free shipping it will do the job.

That looks like a good deal to me; I bought the expensive ABS plastic repop for the 65-66 and still had to modify and trim to get it to fit correct. The ABS is much harder to modify then the material on the one you purchased (switched to power steering so column alignment was the worst part). Still have to do the other truck so look forward to hearing when you finish the install.
Seems reasonable to me, despite some slight modification, considering the difference in price, certainly an improvement over the spindled and mutilated firewall pad that is currently in the truck. I did purchase the 'firewall pad' from DC at least 15 years ago and it still looks in great condition. Having said that, don't come cheap but I can be had.
