Replacing 4R70W with what?
The tranny in my 2002 F150 4X4 code E went out. Can I swap any non F150 97-03 4R70W 4x4 into mine? Are there any write up or step by step guides to doing such swaps? Thanks!

Correction, it is a code U. 4R70W. Can I use any 4R70W from any Ford 4x4 that's between 1997 and 2002? And are there any write ups or tutorials here that list the step by step to changing out the transmission?

Yes, U is 4R70W.
I don't know enough about the changes in the 4R70W over the years to be able to state with 100% accuracy that any '97-'02 4x4 will work. I think so, but I'm not certain. There are others around that know a lot more about the 4R70W than I do.
