My friend has a new F150 and he is going to tow a travel trailer it this october,
I'm thinking the tongue weight will create a noticeable sag
and i was wondering if any of you have used air ride shocks?
What brand would be a good choice, thanks in advance.
I have a 2011 Ecoboost F150 Platinum 4X4 and I tow a 34'10" TT that weights 7700 lbs loaded up, tongue weight around 800 lbs and with the Equalizer hitch with 10K bars it does sag a little bit but is pretty level!
My truck has Bilsteins 5100, 3" block in back, 2.5" raised in front, Light Load E tires, and roadmaster active suspension. I didn't really need the roadmaster but it helped settle the truck down after the E rated tires.
I tow a slightly shorter TT that grosses at 7000lbs. I have made no changes t the suspension, and I don't find the rear end sag to be that bad once I have the WD bars adjusted. In fact, if I crank the bars, I can get the rear back to within 3/4" of level, but I don't like the handling there, so I leave them a bit looser and don't worry about the sag.
Honestly, I think people worry too much about the rear of their truck going down. That's what they are designed to do when loaded.
