I am looking for somebody in the anderson Indiana area with a plasma cutter that can assist with building this. I simply do not have the time due to work to do this myself.
It is similar in design to 1 that's is actually on this site somewhere but I want to eliminate some of the compounded angles and I am building it out of smooth plate rather than tread plate. If anybody is interested please pm me Thanks
No idea on the hitch pin. This picture is from a build thread from elsewhere on this site. I am planning on copying it but I am using smooth plate Ave probably going to switch from the hitch to winch as well as a pair of 6 ton winching shackles that will be mounted into 1 inch steel plate that will serve as the frame mounts for the bumper
Where does the pin go for the front receiver? Not much use without it.
You can see light through the hitch pin hole in the picture, so it's there. Probably can be accessed (but not easily) from underneath. But you don't need to access a fron hitch pin that often, so that's probably OK. (I did a similar thing on my Bronco)
I am amazed we have no members near Anderson.... plasma cutter is the only thing I an lacking. I have angle grinder and cutoff wheels but figured the plasma would be faster.
My welder is a Lincoln SP100, I have Oxy/Acet, and I have a 6 inch horizontal band saw that works nicely. Just need somebody with more expertise than I have to assist.
This might be of some help, the high school one town over from me has a really good metal shop. I was fortunate enough to be allowed to take some classes there when I was in high school and we did work for other people in the class, like cutting metal or welding stuff together for them. You might see if the schools around you have any programs like that.
