Couldn't wait. I did a pre-install hookup with metra 70-1771 pigtail. I've yet to find a negative. Cranked up Five Finger Death Punch on factory speakers to my liking. The interface is seemingly limitless in what it can offer.
No lag or delay in the touch response that I could detect. The resolution and brightness are incredible. This pic was taken during a light rain, with the unit on the dash. Screen brightness is about 52-54%, with the packing film still on it.

Nice looking unit!! Glad your stoked on it, hopefully I can join the doub-din ranks soon. Pretty easy to install/hook up? Are you going to run a B/U camera?
The only difficult part to getting it all hooked up was the metra pigtail that goes between the Head units wiring and the dash harness. The colors on the metra did not match anything. It was a minor headache, but a headache none the less.
I'm actually going to be running 2 rear-view cameras. One aimed for parking, the other for lining up to tow. The head unit has 2 video inputs, one specifically for rear view cameras, the other for watching video. My java skills are really rusty but I think it should be possible to cook up an app that will let me do a split screen view between the 2 or at least a view change widget to go quickly from one to the other.
There will be trimming needed. Pretty straight forward if you look through the various double din write ups out there. I'm personally exploring some different options with getting it mounted in the dash. Looking at fabbing up a kydex box to install in the dash opening, then place the HU in that. Should provide a cleaner installation overall... in theory.
I'll have to get back to you on that. I'm hoping to finish up the install this weekend. I do know the back light for the buttons has a trick little adjustment menu with independent 0-255 RGB sliders allowing near limitless color options. aside from playing around a bit, I don't know what else there is.
This looks interesting as I've been holding off on a double DIN unit and am a Android user as well. Never took to crapple. Kinda like buying a car with the hood welded shut.
Is there option to keep the Rear DVD player? or some kinda option? I plan on changing mine to a media player of some sort anyhow, as the DVD player itself is having issues (kid inflicted).
Not sure about the rear dvd. the unit does have video in separate from the backup camera.
I see on he picture of the back where the video in is but I can't see a second one or a separate spot for the backup camera feed. Would just like to confirm that there are two inputs for video or camera feeds?
Also any updates on how these units are still working out for the owners.
So I am going to get this same unit as it'll do what I need. I just need to figure out how to keep the rear screen as this unit has 2 video outputs. I'll phase out the DVD player - as it doesnt work right anyway.

All three of mine are still working 100%. I've owned them since May.

The backup cam plug is in the included wiring harness. Yellow rca style connector. I've been messing around under the hood so still don't have mine fully installed. Also trying to work out a mount for one of my cameras. That part hasn't been wanting to go as planned.
Thanks for the replies. What started me down this path is a desire to have a three back up camera system for my horse trailer (one on back of truck, one on back of trailer, and one in the trailer to keep an eye on the furry maniacs). It's moved from grabbing some simple wireless cameras(of which I've determined none will work to my satisfaction) to a complete hard wired system with a new head unit. So far I really like the features and price of these joyriding units but I still need to wrap my head around how to wire the whole thing up so I have multiple camera inputs and can hopefully retain all my factory steering wheel controls too. Lastly I'm hoping to accomplish all this while keeping everything as plug and play as possible.
It's definetly a winter project now as I take the truck off the road for the winter.
Thors Hammer your info and videos have been very helpful. Thanks.
