double vs. single timing set

replacing the timing chain set on a 1979 351 Windsor and I need to know if there is a problem with putting a double set up where a single was used. clearance and thickness seem to be the same. but i have yet to replace the cover. Thanks in advance for your input

Double roller timing sets are made to fit in place of a stock timing chain, so there shouldn't be any clearance issues. There's actually a fair bit of room inside there. One advantage of the double roller sets is that they're often degree-able, so you have the option to run it straight up or advance or retard the timing (usually about 4º either way) depending on your application.
