I had a interesting thing happen today

I was going to an appointment today and was going about 35 MPH and the truck just kinda sounded like all 8 injectors went into spaz mode for about 1-2 seconds. Initially I looked at the oil pressure thinking the oil pump went out. The engine/idiot light came on during the event and went off. But did not stall out in traffic. I was right in Green Bay Ugg that would have sucked.

I was a few minutes early and plugged in my Superchips reader to see what light code was there and it was a 1211. I have two questions for everyone.

1) should I disconnect the ICP and check for oil, if so replace?

2) what hypothetically happened?

PS I now have a slight miss like a injector or something is not happy in one hole.

Yes, it will not hurt and you could also unplug it and drive the truck to see if the miss goes away.

I would replace the ICP if there is oil in the connector. OEM only... Dieselorings or Riffraff

What else will the Superchips read?

I just use that for a on the spot code reader now. I had at one time used it for a up tune but with a E-99 MPG went right out the window in any setting including the MPX/MPG setting. I suspect the mapping with smaller injectors of the E-99 works good already. With the settings I put in with torque at home I am now getting 18.5 to 18.7 Just not in downtown Green Bay. I was also around by Shelby Restorations as well dropping off BBF stuff.

One thing I forgot to mention above is that when you disconnect/unplug the ICP it is probably going to cause a CEL; however, this will not hurt anything short term.

Also, if unplugging the ICP does not change anything, it would be helpful to know if you have any additional gauges, mods, etc.

What is your oil and fuel level?

Green Bay. I had always known about how the local community was rabid for the Packers, but I was stunned at how small the actual town is when I visited. I did some work in Sturgeon bay.

You might have a leaking injector O-ring (or several). Cody test.

I have been seriously busy. But crazy as it sounds I dropped the tank(something I have wanted to do for a long while) and cleaned the in tank filters. They were pretty clean to begin with. Makes me thing the truck does have the mileage it says. No change on how it runs but a update non the less. Well no oil from the ICP sensor. Now Cody test. May even do a CR test as I have been wanting to do that as I have never done that on the truck since I bought it.

Ok so it took me a while to get to my truck. I did a CT and all looked good. The contribution test said #8 was a few % low but no code. So I did a Cody. FAIL... Also I had noticed I had leaking Up pipes. I parked my truck as I could see the EX manifolds were getting hot/IE changing color. I ordered a injector seal kit as well as up pipes and turbo kit and RR 4/4 wheel. I did the drivers side today and here is what #4 looked like, needless to say I had #6 look worse. #2 seal looked bad but was about ready to give up the goods. I was amazed it ran as well as it did to be honest. Tugly is now known to me as the 7.3 whisperer lol. I just did the drivers side and pulled it out of the garage and it runs a 100X better already. It still has a slight miss but I am certain its on the passenger side yet. I am going to do the Up pipes and turbo next. At least now I could put a soda on the engine and it wont fall off.
