I wanted to ask is the ICVR tied into the Tach on the factory tach setup for a '82 F150?
I ask because every now and then my tach acts funky. It will blip up just a little while you are accelerating but wont at idle. Today it made two stops first stop no problem but when I left Advance I noticed I was at 1250 rpm and the tach was blipping up to 2000 rpm fairly regularly while I was going down the road. I got to Pepboys and when I left the tach acted fine.
To me I have to rule out connection because I hit every harsh bump I could at 40 mph and it made no difference but shutting the ignition switch off and then back on caused it to correct itself.
Only thing I can think of is either the tach itself or the ICVR is acting up from time to time.
Ah ok, so now got to decide what could be causing this. It has to be electrical as it resets when the key is switched off and back on. which tells me it has to do with the loss of power causing a reset. I cant say ignition module as the truck runs great besides the occasional bog from time to time. So I guess I need to look for another tach and plan on replacing mine.
