2wd trucks are great for body parts also. They where usually not driven much in the salt.

Crossmembers will be the same, only differences are the rear leaf spring brackets. 2wd used 2.5" wide springs, and 4x4 used 3" wide springs. You have 3 options:
1) If your current hangers are not rusted out, try to reuse them.
2) Use the 2wd springs and hangers
3) Buy aftermarket hangers (Dorman has them, but only the rearward ones for F150 in 3" wide)

If you do go the route of replacing the hangers, we have both the front of rear and rear of rear position hangers. I may be wrong but I believe the mounting holes on the rear of the rear hanger is the same pattern and measurements for the 2.5" and 3" wide. So that's one less thing you would have to worry about..

Right, the actual bracket will be the same for 1980-1996 U/F100/150-F350 the most rear position, its the shackle that will be different.

I was referring to the front bracket, where the space for the leaf goes may be different between the 4wd and 2wd.

I haven't been to a parts store to compare them side by side.

The rear spring bracket and the front are different. The 4x4 uses 3 inch wide springs, so the hangers are wider. I did modify a 2wd rear spring bracket to fit a 3 inch wide spring, but it took a little welding to do it.

^^^^ What he said. I was only referring to the actual center to center hole measurements of the (4) holes that go to the frame. Wider spring on the 4x4. The front of the rear hanger will be completely different also.
