I'm looking at an 03 f250 4x4 lariat and there asking pay off for the truck which is 5,700. But it has 205,000 miles and I'm pretty sure it will need a trans it shifts from 1st to third fine but 4th it slips and jumps and in reverse. Said they have a 68 mm garret turbo, arp head studs , and bulldog programmer. Wondering if that be a bad deal. Considering I'd be putting in the trans. Be a first diesel for me. And I really don't want the programmer. Thanks for the help.

If the body is good and you're going into it knowing that it will need a transmission, sounds like a darn good idea. Ditch the tuner and drive it till it falls apart, seems to already have some of the major work done.
The Bullydog is probably the reason why the tranny is going. It doesn't remove timing between shifts, you get full HP to the clutches as it goes to the next gear causing extreme wear to them.
68mm turbo, that's about 10mm bigger than stock, probably bigger injectors too. If you ditch the tuner, you'll need another to take advantage of the turbo, get a custom tune done so your not killing the tranny.
There are other things to check as well, you need to read up, get a gauge to read the values of the important stuff before purchasing the truck, unless your feeling lucky?
Body looks good. Will need a mirror on driver side. yeah after I posted I found the thread about what to look for when buying one and the gauge to read values.
But given the little info already posted about the tunner and the Trans then seeing the stack in the bed of the truck I have the feeling this trucks been RODE VERY HARD
If there was no fuel system upgrades Injectors my not have much life left in them unless they been changed but even at that you will need supporting Mods to ensure longevity
To be safe side you better figure around 6K in work that probably needs done and that's very conservative with you doing the install
