Thank you for the heads up. It is time for our renewal in October.
A couple of our friends went with them last year and haven't had any issues, so we decided to try them out for a year. AAA gets expensive when added kids and family members.
We recently dropped AAA after about 10 years and switched to Good Sam due to our travel trailer and their ability to cater toward the RV community. I had to use their towing service a couple of weeks ago and was satisfied with the experience. Of course a big part of that depends on the local towing company that is contracted out to help, but the service call and follow up were timely and adequate.

We asked AAA why other companies could offer better services for a better price and they replied that other companies can't offer the fringe benefits that AAA can? I thought AAA provided a hedge against expensive towing, not discounts at theme parks.
$69 a year instead of $210 with longer daily tows, I can go to Sea World for FREE with those savings, and get soaked by Shamu, NOT AAA.

We dropped AAA for goodsam as well. I learned goodsam will only tow to their closest recognized repair facility. I do all my own work so prefer to have it brought home if reasonable. The one time I used it had to pay the tow companies milage for the difference between their facility and my home. Cant get the autovantage site to load, will have to check it out...
I too, would like to hear your experience in the long term. I've been a satisfied AAA member for 15 years. Currently I have their Premium RV coverage which is $160/year. It includes towing to any location up to 200 miles. It covers our camper and boat/trailer. Our family has used it nearly once a year for things ranging from lockouts to stalled vehicles needing tow to home or mechanic, and they've always been prompt, within an hour. I figure one call pays for the premium, and it's been great peace of mind for my wife and kids. Especially when we're out traveling with our toys and equipment far from home. But, as with most other things, I am curious how other plans work.
From what I understand AAA will tow you 200 miles to your choice of destination while the competitors tow you to a "repair facility" so be sure to pay attention to the wording.
