I'm a member but haven't had an emergency to try them out. I like the discounts I get though ! Maybe somebody will jump in with some experience on the emergency coverage. I'm subscribing.......
I have Good Sam RoadSide Assistance. I really like the service. I have used it twice in the last 4 weeks and it has saved me time and money. I had 2 blowouts on the old 5er and within 40 minutes of the first one, they had me on the road again. The second took longer but they still kept calling me back and keeping me informed and made sure I was safe. They had the Dept of Public saftey come by since I was on a main freeway. But they were persistent on the service. Much better than AAA IMO. Right now it is something around $56 or $57 for the first year but next year it $113. It covers all vehicles in your house hold, even kiddos, I have used it when we were with someone else, even though they say they don't. They asked and I was truthfull and they did the service. They have a network that they have contracts and if you are somewhere where they do not have service, you will have to pay out of pocket for the service but send it in and they will reimburse you 100%. I have done that a couple of times and the money was back to me within 2 weeks. My wife has used it when the car would not start and I was out of town, and my youngest daughter used it at college when her truck needed a jump. They will tow your Tow Vehicle to the nearest facility within thier network and they will tow your Trailer to the nearest campground or RV park. They do not tow to YOUR descrection unless you pay the difference out of pocket. I just can only say I am and have been totally satisified, just by having someone change out the tires on a freeway and the outside temp was over 107 degrees!
Steve is right..... you will get a lot of pitches to sign up for other stuff. No biggie, I have a big trash can. I can see where it could pay off if you are on the road a good bit and don't have other means to deal with emergencies.
