BATTERY DRAIN V2

Last 4-6 days no problems. Out of the blue dead again... Nothing was left on...

4th alt
4th voltage regulator
2nd set of batteries

What in the ****... Starting to wear on me... Been down every test and guess with everyone who commented last time. Seemed resolved. But looks like I was wrong.

It's probably something stupid like a glovebox light that's staying on or something.

Just hook up an override solenoid between the battery accessory wire and everything else:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SOLENOID-GOLF-CART-MARINE-WINCH-12-Volt-Continuous-HEAVY-DUTY-/360407366651?hash=item53e9f3fbfb&vxp=mtrPower it with a switch on the dash. Instant solution, and then you can fix the other problem at your leisure.

That's pretty much what I was considering hahaah!!!! But I'm just losing my mind, alt was warm this morning -_- granted it was almost 100, but the alt almost cooked my hand. I'm debating unplugging my voltage regulator and letting it sit next weekend see if it happens again... It's just becoming irritation... And my local parts place is becoming quite annoyed...

No power in cab aside from cluster lights and power window fuse... Tested them both, neither of them are my issue,,, I've got a constant draw somewhere, and I'm thinking it's the alt..

Oh. I'll bet you the "I" wire on the regulator is mis-wired.
Make sure it doesn't have power with the key off, and it should be fed through a light bulb(usually the dash light).
If it's fed straight from power, the alt will get hot and eventually fry. Even fed through a light bulb(which limits the amount of power it can draw), it should still be switched power.

So since my IP is on an seperate switch. Can I wire the "i" wire to that, so it's only on when the trucks on?

Probably - It shouldn't backfeed power into the FSS solenoid through that wire.

Wire it through a light bulb, though(either an indicator light or tail light).
With the engine off and key/power on, the light should be on. Once the engine is running, the light should go out or be really really dim(if it doesn't, it means you aren't charging).

So, just so we're on the same page, the pervious owner cut everything up lol. Ran his own "wiring" if you could call it that... But it's charging... Just apparently draining...

Yes. So you will need to run your own custom wiring, or figure out the stubs of factory wiring.

If you can find whichever wire went to the dash light, great. If not, use a light bulb and find switched power.

Just remember you need to tie it to one side of the light, and the other side goes to power not ground.
