Courtesy Light Switch HELP

Well hello all..............just was finishing taping up the main harness. Im putting all new switches on and ran into a dilemma. The courtesy light switch in the door jam is the issue. On the new switches the post that the door hits to turn off the light is way too long.........the original switch is way smaller. All the places i go to show that i have the right part number even the master parts catalog says i do.........but there is no way that the new switch will work.

Has any one else run into this??????? the new switch doesn't even look like the old

I hear they are shut the door and auto depth adjust....at least that is what one guy did on here.

Yup, screw it in and shut the door, it'll adjust itself.

They'll self adjust the first time you close the door. Threw me for a loop too until I just went for it.

Aha! I bought a set of these and never installed them because of the length. I wondered if they could be adjusted but didn't know how.

I was Glad I read (search button) about it before buying them otherwise they would'a stayed on the parts store shelf...
