I just removed the dash bezel from my 1979 f100. Behind where the light and washer switch sits is this funky looking bulb with a built in spring clip. It seems to be blue in color but I cant see where the light would shine through on the bezel. I think its part 13466 but what the heck does it do and where can I get a new one?
That clips in between the lights and wiper switch and lights up the lights and wiper label on the dash. Mine fell off too when I took it all apart. I scratched my head for a while until I figured it out.

The springy tangs clip on the back of the instrument bezel to illuminate/backlight the headlight and wiper switch.
Notice that the tangs are the same width as the square hole
Yep, it clips in where HIO and Heliguy noted. As far as replacing the bulb, if you look carefully, you'll notice that what you're looking at is actually two pieces: the bulb socket pushes up inside the housing that has the clip & blue filter. You can remove it, then the bulb removes from the socket.
Ah, got it. I just tried the lights at night (first time) and this bulb doesn't work, neither does the one behind the ALT and Fuel. I assume these are similar type bulbs? or are they part of the circuit panel type thing behind the dash, just need to get in there and dig em out.
I did mine with the "Elite Series, Factory Color" kit for the instrument panel and added an extra bayonet-base warm white LED for the lights/wipers position and an extra warm white 194 for the heater controls.

So I can't simply swap bulbs for leds? There are direct replacement leds though, hmmm.
Yes, you can - the kit is simply a selection of all the LED bulbs you need for the cluster, with installation instructions. Polarity matters, so be sure to install them in the correct direction...
