Different models too. Also, if you aren't hooked on the classic look of you dash, you can get single din media players for much less. These units seem to be the way to go, now that we have BT, MP3s, iPods, etc.

Here is mine I have Polk Audio 6 1/2 in the doors. It sounds pretty good but I would consider an amp.

I purchased the Retro Sound 2C myself. It's a great head unit (IMO) with all the features - bluetooth for hands free phone and USB connectivity.
The head unit with 6.5" (4ohm) door speakers and a powered sub-woofer (Sound Ordinance) mounted under the seat is plenty of sound for the cab.
Replacing the old speaker wires is a great way to improve the sound on a new install. You can also get flush mount USB and Audio jacks online to mount the jacks on the face of the dash - it looks cleaner.
If you go with the Retro Sound unit you will not be disappointed.

This is the one I got then I waited and ordered the face plate that I wanted. They were only $10.00 to $15.00

I found the unit below for $7 and then sent it off to Gene Cochran in Nebraska (recommended by another FTE member) . He does old radio repair. He refurbed it, replaced the filters and installed an auxiliary jack for the fair price of $65 including shipping to and from. Here's is his contact info.

Now I can plug my iPhone/iPod into it and play through the radio. I don't have a picture of it installed but it worked out great.
