Radio

So my new truck is radio-less. I was browsing on-the-line for an original to throw in and came across these, anyone have or know of??

Been looking at radio options for a few years now... These appear to be the only option. A tad pricey but never read anything bad about them. And price is relative as plenty of newer sized aftermarket head units cost way more.

These stereos are also available at
Find what fits your car - Crutchfield

Different models too. Also, if you aren't hooked on the classic look of you dash, you can get single din media players for much less. These units seem to be the way to go, now that we have BT, MP3s, iPods, etc.

I just installed a Retro Sound 900C.
Looks close enough to original.

Here is mine I have Polk Audio 6 1/2 in the doors. It sounds pretty good but I would consider an amp.

If you go with the Retro Sound or similar, you'll still need an OEM faceplate so if your truck didn't have a radio, better start scrounging the parts yards.

Longview,

I purchased the Retro Sound 2C myself. It's a great head unit (IMO) with all the features - bluetooth for hands free phone and USB connectivity.

The head unit with 6.5" (4ohm) door speakers and a powered sub-woofer (Sound Ordinance) mounted under the seat is plenty of sound for the cab.

Replacing the old speaker wires is a great way to improve the sound on a new install. You can also get flush mount USB and Audio jacks online to mount the jacks on the face of the dash - it looks cleaner.

If you go with the Retro Sound unit you will not be disappointed.

Another option for those that want a completely original look is to pull an original radio from your local salvage yard and have it refurbished.

I found the unit below for $7 and then sent it off to Gene Cochran in Nebraska (recommended by another FTE member) . He does old radio repair. He refurbed it, replaced the filters and installed an auxiliary jack for the fair price of $65 including shipping to and from. Here's is his contact info.

Gene's TV Repair
2201 Ave C
Scottsbluff Ne 69361
308-632-2520

Now I can plug my iPhone/iPod into it and play through the radio. I don't have a picture of it installed but it worked out great.
