window seals

So I ordered a anti rattler kit from Mac's (unwise move, I think), and the division bar requires assembly. You have to move the brackets from your old one, and install the new vent window seal. They send 2 bags of rivets, one with smaller, one with larger rivets. The small rivets will fit into the vent window seal and seat, but the aligning holes in the division bar channel are way larger. Larger in the way that if you were to turn the rivet around and go into the channel first, it completely passes through. I can't see how, by passing through the seal first, I could hammer the post end so that it was larger than the flat end of the rivet, and hold the seal in place. It appears that both size rivets would work for the brackets, so I could use the larger ones for the vent seal, but that would require drilling the holes in the seal larger. I can't imagine that this is correct. Finding someone at Mac's who knows anything has proven difficult.

Any thoughts???????

I know this description is awkward, let me know if you need clarification.
