Probably 1 Page Thread G2G
- Certainly in the middle of the action. Easy to walk to kids activity, dinner, fast food, Starbucks, etc.
- This is considered the Nothern part of the Dells. Away from Baraboo, Fancy hotels with inside water parks, Casino.
- Walking distance to Go cart track, rides, putt putt golf, downtown Dells, Damm, Bridge across the Wisconsin River.
- I've never driven through or camped here but the place is busy. The pool / splash pad area is out front and there are always people in this area. It can be 7am or 7pm and there always is someone in the pool area.
- Plenty of humongous campers come out of this place.
- Under a mile from freeway exit (#87). If I were Roy, I would exit at exit #85 and take hy 12/16 to this campground. One of the intersections you need to drive through from Exit 87 to Sherwood Forest Campground is crazy busy and you will need to make a left hand turn. Exiting at exit 85 avoids this intersection. Kind of a short county ride from exit 85 to Sherwood Forest Campground.
- Trappers Turn golf course is just across the street. Great place to go for a fish fry. Everyone in Wisconsin has a fish fry on Friday nights. If anyone golfs, Trappers Turn was designed by Andy North. Not too long and kind of a shot makers golf course. Not too busy either.
- Not a great location for food stores. Small and expensive store in town. Walmart super store at exit #89.
- Paul Bunyan's Cook Shanty is within walking distance and a trip to the dells would not be complete without having breakfast at Paul Bunyan's. It's all you can eat, very good, and lots of fun.
- This is very close to all the Dells boat tours.
- Campfire wood is available by taking a right out of the campground and driving a mile or two north/west down hy12/16. I'm sure that Sherwood Forest Campground sells firewood but it may be expensive. These side of road stands typically are a better deal.
I was thinking about FTE members and the campers that I see in pictures behind F250, F350, & F450s. What's the most common phrase heard at camping dealers by 6.7L FTE members. "That camper was nice but do you have anything larger". Only here, it seems that a 40+ foot camper would be considered modest in size.

Nice to have the 6.7L power.I will be in the dells the weekend of September 19th if you need anything. Happy to stop and take pictures of sites if reservations have been made.
