I got lucky at the wrecking yard today. I found an 81 that had all the bed bolts and took them but there was a difference, my 80 has a clip to hold the bolt behind the rear wheel on the drivers side. The 81 had a bolt and nut just like the passenger side. The clip bolt has some kind of phillips head so from what I have seen in the bolt description above it isn't mentioned so finding one is probably out of the question. I have to see if I can get the clip off with everything in place and try to get a nut on the bolt I have
@Gary, there are two "SCHLOSS" in germany, the castel one and the other is the mechanical one like a DOORLOCK
the source is the same, they both are locked ore close.
The B row of bolts on my truck has a clip on the drivers side and the bolt had a large phillips head the truck I pulled the bolts off today just had a nut under the bed so the carriage bolt sat in the square on the bed to allow for tightening. I can not find a bolt with the phillips head configuration. I will have to find a way to take out the clip I am hoping that doesn't entail undoing all that I have done already. The original phillips head bolt I had was worn to the point the only to get it out was with a chisel, so not much left of it. I wish I would have found this info here before I started my project. I never gave it much thought that the bolts would be obsolete
Bob - Can you post pics? I'm not aware of the use of Phillips-headed screws on a Styleside, so maybe if I saw what you are talking about I'd understand.
Hardy - Oh! I wasn't aware of the other meaning. Thanks.
Gary... thx for posting this info! I was at some point going to have to track these down (I'm in need of 2 bed bolts (the ones with the oval shanks) and I was going to search the forum first... your timing is perfect!
Sorry I trashed the bolt pretty well taking it off. It had a very large phillips head I tried using an impact driver to get it to move and when that failed cut a groove across the head and used the chisel. I took a picture of the clip I removed and got the carriage bolt to work.
That clip looks like ones they use on the bottom of the fenders in the rockers.
Think the spare tire holder uses that same kind of clip too.
I think your took box brace uses that same type of clip.

Man why didn't someone kick my butt ( pm me) to remind me to remeasure the bolt holes!
If I get home early I will see what I can do....if I don't forget again.

I just sprayed all the bolts/nuts on my 81 F100 LB and they were all nuts.
I did not see any with the clip on the frame that a bolt from above would screw into.
I do not know what my 81 F100 SB flare side would of had as the bed on that truck was 75% gone. But as a guess it had bolts thru the wood floor and nuts on the under side.
