Gary, Funny you mentioned desert storm. Henry's going with surplus "shoes"
Mounted on some freshly coated 16.5s
Back to work so progress is going to slow down for a couple weeks.
Started to work on the cab mount and, crap. I forgot to apply Jim's first law of rust repair, it's ALWAYS 3 TIMES WORSE than you think. The cab mount is from Bob Drake and it fits nice and looks good.
Now I need pans, Who makes the best fitting?
New Mount
Think it might need replacement.
And the Problem!
Sorry to have gone so long without an update, sometimes things happen that you can't control, I'm still alive though. I'll try to post some pictures of the progress but my connection is very slow these days. So we've been making progress slow but sure, the front suspension is done except for the shock mounts, the rear suspension is done, the engine and trans are in, the nose is back on but the bed is off. All together looking good, if I may say so.
Very happy to see someone tackling a 2wd->4wd swap. I like the mod to the x-member, creative idea for clearance going to the right instead of 'up'. Great job, looking forward to more pics (w/37s)

Thanks smoky. The xmember got a little trim on the bottom as well, seems to clear OK. I'll try posting a coupe pics from my phone as my internet is refusing to cooperate.
I like a little bit of rake myself. Still, it's looking good.
If those tires are directional, make sure you get them going the proper way. Pic shows tread pattern going opposite ways.

Good catch on the tread pattern, I was looking at the frame and springs for a bit, then noticed the direction of the tread. Went to post and noticed you beat me to it. Good catch.
