3 Lead CMP (camshaft postion sensor)

Gday all,

I have a 94 4.0L (vinX) in a 90 B2. Unfortunately I broke the CMP while removing the motor from the donor vehicle. I JB welded the sensor back together but now it's throwing CMP code. I am one of the lucky ones to have a 1st gen 3 lead CMP sensor. I can not find a 3 lead sensor anywhere (discontinued by manufacturer). I read somewhere I can use a 2 lead CMP from a 95 4.0L with minor wiring mods. Does anyone know how to rewire a 3 lead harness to accept a 2 lead CMP?

Thanks for your help,

Harl

I'll have a look at your sources, In all my searches I only turned up 2 lead CMP's
I did manage to score a test lead to calibrate the CID sensor once it's on the shaft, that was $18. The prices I saw on the sensor alone weren't bad at $40.+-, thought that was reasonable. You must be referring to the entire oil pump drive assembly. The full assemblies I saw started at $275 and went up to $450

Thanks for the leads,

harl
