I cant figure this out, i have a 2001 7.3l ive been noticing that when accelerating the truck doesnt really blow any black smoke it seems to be more white or just that you see something is coming out of the exhaust. Im not going for the "roll coal" picture but this is the only true reason ive noticed this. My truck has a TS 6 Position chip i usually just keep it on the highest setting because its the most responsive and i just prefer it. But anyway ive noticed that when accelerating hard or going up hill in the last gear itll be clear or white but not black which is unburnt fuel. I did a fuel filter change im thinking about doing a fuel injector cleaner?
I have no loss of power nor is it running rough or bad at all. i had my friend whose a diesel tech scan the truck and nothing showed up so i figured id post here see what others have done with this.
Not really sure what you're asking, it sounds like your truck is dialed in perfect, a goal that most of us are constantly in pursuit of. If it wasn't dialed in perfectly you probably would see smoke.
maybe lol i just know that when i first put the chip on and had it set to the highest setting when accelerating harder or going up hill id notice black smoke now it dosnt at all and like i said i can care less about the smoke i just noticed that it wasnt black anymore and wondering why
Alright i looked it up pretty easy, take the filter out, and drain it make sure there isnt any build up and then put it back in i did put a injector cleaner in this tank to just do it and see what comes of it.
i have noticed my fuel mileage has dropped slightly
