Transmission drain plug
Here is my 3-speed trans drain plug looking sad and wallered out.
Too big for the 3/8" drive and to small for the 1/2" drive. It's a good one because it has a little magnet on the other end, so I'd like to use it. Any ideas on how to improve this one so it can be tightened?

Pipe plugs are cheap and plentiful, even with a magnet on the end. But it you're determined to use that one, you may be able to weld up the corners better and grind them square again, or find an old, short 1/2 drive extension and grind/file the tip to seat square in the hole.

I agree with '52... but if you want you can cut a hex head bolt short and weld it into the plug recess then use as boxed end wrench to turn it... or you could go roll around in a u pull it and steal one out of a transmission.. probably in about the same shape as yours...
if you can't find one with a magnet... epoxy a small button magnet to a new one at the APS... I epoxied a magnet in the bottom of my drain pan during the build..
