need a 4r100

Tranny went out torque looks cooked, no temp gauge. Hauled hay out of field. I am in mid western PA. Anyone know who might have a reman on a shelf within couple hrs. Truck is mostly stock. Or a rebuilder without 4 wk wait.

Thanks,
Rfh

There is someone in the Harrisburg area but I don't know their name. Full three year warranty parts and labor.

Go to your Ford dealer and get the HD4R100. It is a heavy duty unit. I have read many horror stories about locally rebuilt 4R100 transmissions. It's not worth the $ savings if your rebuilt Trans fails. I am in need of replacing mine, 8 of the 10 shops I called will not even try to rebuild the 4R100, they all said they will use the HD4R100 from ford and not rebuild it in house. Why I don't know but that has to tell you something.

That's not a bad price.

I had a local guy rebuild one of mine. Cost me $1600 with converter, trans go and some other things. Of course I pulled it and put it in too. Money was a huge issue at the time. He was the only person who took the time to talk to me for more than 2 minutes on the phone. No one else cared. It came with a 1 year unlimited mile warranty. Just saying that if you can find one person who knows what there doing its worth it. The only problem I had was a converter went out and he had me a new one the day after I called him and told him..... Damn shame he's gone now, the community lost one hell of a trans builder...

you could always check craigslist. i know it isn't the best option for trustworthy people but you might find a truck someone is parting out...
i called two dealerships in my area out here in oakland, ca and neither of them ever heard of a HD4R100. i was told they will install the most current transmission that is made. i'm not sure what is meant when they told me that...
i emailed JW today. getting ready to pull the trigger on a new trans myself.
good luck with your search and repairs.

Got the ford tow hd4r100 installed.$ 3450. Seems good but light on shifter is blinking. I broke the wires on the clip on top closest to the torque converter and soldered it back up. Does any one know what those pins in the clip are called for the wire connector? Thought maybe I could replace them.
Thanks
