I am wondering why all of a sudden for the past couple weeks when I shut my truck off and re-start it a few minutes later the settings change? I.E. A/C on high and my back up sensor switch on. I shut the truck off, run into the store or where ever, start back up and my back up sensors are off and my a/c is on but blowing out the defrost. I have to shut off the hvac unit and turn it back on to get the a/c out the vents. For some reason it seems both are defaulting to this? Any idea's? It's getting really annoying having to constantly shut the a/c off and restart it to get air out the vent ...
I would start with getting it scanned for codes. The toy that they use at
places like Autozone won't cut it. They don't pull up the Ford specific codes.
You need to find someone with a pro scanner like a Snap-On, Matco, Mac,
AutoEnginuity or an IDS/VCM.
OK ... My EATC won't initiate a self test on it's own, however I can initiate the self test with my scanner. Self test checks out ok there.
Codes, Yup, there are a few.
Park assit module: C1710 Rear inner right sensor fault. I performed a self test on that and it came back with the same code. I will go ahead and get a sensor.
Generic Electronic Module: P1832 Transfer case differential lock-up solenoid circuit fault. I have no idea where to go from here!
ABS: U1900 ABS CAN Communication BUS Fault. Again, I have no idea where to go from here ..... Any help would be appreciated !
The transfer case solenoid might be them relays by the driver side battery. They're 2 relays by themselves in a little box by the fender, in front of the battery and closest to the driver side headlight.
Canbus fault may be ur ac head unit going bad. That dang thing ties in with radio and everything else. But I'm not too sure.
Ac blowing thru defrost is a vacuum leak. I'd fix that first cos it's a vacuum line. To trace that line, u will have to drop ur passenger side glove box and pull off the dash panel. Back of ac head unit is where the vacuum line starts. 6 color rainbow thing.

1st I'd check the heater control valve vacuum line and verify the pump is working correctly. Then the vacuum lines at the hubs and if no luck then I'd dig into the dash. I'm lazy Dom. Easy things 1st.

Lol. No worries boss. Ur right about starting from easy to complicated.

OK, I have checked those two particular relay's and they check fine. I have a relay tester. In fact, I checked all relay's and fuses, all good. What is the (P1832) Transfer case differential lock-up solenoid and what does it do? Where is it located?
Give me a bit if someone does not answer that one and I'll dig into the diagrams.
How ever the only 2 relays I know of for the transfew case are the two up by
the driver side battery. But I'll look.
I reread your first post and think the only problem is the EATC.
So here are some PDFs for you to ponder.
I did find a little gem hiding in my PDF lists.
It a connector location listing by Cxxxx # and
a general location.
Enjoy.
Sorry if this makes you look like Linda Blair in The Exorcist With the head spinning.
