Ok since I received everything in boxes when I got the motor and tranny, my shop is a mess and I am missing one part. The spring that goes between the throw out bearing and transmission housing, no parts stores can find it and I was wondering if I need to have it in there? It was a flemsy spring anyway please help.
Yes when I got the tranny there was a spring between the TO and trans body I just figured it was there to keep the TO from moving to far from the fingers but if It isn't supposed to be there who ever put it there made me do a lot of searching lastnight.
You are going to be using a single mass flywheel clutch setup, right?
I'd check that the clutch fork and throwout bearing aren't worn - My setup had a bit of wear(from years of use), and the clutch fork will move around a little making a rattling noise, especially at idle. Touch the clutch(put slight pressure against the fork) and the noise went away.
I fixed it with a new(er) clutch fork, but before I did that I just poked a small hole in the bottom of the clutch fork(the bottom side when installed) and ran a spring from there to the bottom of the transmission(attached a plate to a bolt). This kept the clutch fork from vibrating.
In your case, I'd want to use a new clutch fork if it's worn, a new throwout bearing if it looks like it has wear on it, etc. Once it's in the truck, it's a pain to replace, so now is the time.
This is a dual mass flywheel with a stock replacement disc and pressure plate with very low miles(disc still looks new) the throw out is new and IDK about the play with the fork yet. The motor and tranny are in so I could fab motor mount risers but didn't put the clutch on since we have to pull the motor to install the oil pump ****in post office took too long, and finish all the welds on the risers. When the clutch goes out I will upgrade I just can't justify doing it now since the friction disc looks brand new.

Yeah, I know how this is.
Keep an eye on it, though... a number of people have had catastrophic failures of the DMF system, cracking the transmission bell housing or worse.
