Skreechy sounds??

Ok, so my dad and I just finished an EGR delete kit on the ole 6.4.... we started it up and there's this weird skreechy noise that is in conjunction with the noise of the engine(not exhaust, actual engine noise) it idles the same way, and when you pop the throttle it gets really loud, but then disappears until back at idle, just like the engine. It is really hard to pin point, but I think it's coming from the drivers side rear of the engine. It is right near the fuel cooling thingy. LOL, don't know the exact name. Also, for those who don't know, it's right near the radiator filling resovoir (where you put the water in). It's from the top of the engine I believe, and just an fyi, we put fluid in the waterpump, and checked the fan (it's not rubbing) you guys have any idea of what this could be?!?!?!?!?

Tough over the internet diag, but I'd take a look at the block off plate and make sure it's sealed right.

Skreechy sounds??

Hmm, I have read elsewhere on this forum about screechy things and in the end it was the electric coolant pump for the turbo and fuel cooler.

Have you checked the coolant level in the turbo!/fuel cooler? Might need to be bled.

Come to think of it though, that probably makes it screech at a different spot.

But if screeches at idle, and louder as engine speed increases, but stops when accel pedal is released and resumes at idle, I'd say that quite accurately describes exhaust leak.

UPDATE

Well, we forgot to stick screws back in the exhaust manifold which is why we had 4 leftover screws. For those looking into doing this job: don't forget that there are screws in there that hold the mounting hardware for the horizontal cooler. Have to put those bolts back in LMAO. Thanks guys!
