It's a little tough to understand your post, a little punctuation would make it easier to read.
I think you have a couple of things going on. It's not uncommon for the O/D off wires to fray in the column and stop working. When it gets locked out of overdrive, does the "O/D OFF" light illuminate on your dash?
thankya Tom for replying back so quik im sorry im not the best speller, but the only light indicator I have is on the end of the shifter and it hasn't worked for some time now for sure I haven't seen it since last year thast when I noticed that when I needed it I had to start putin it park, pull shifter in towards me while pressin the button, then I could git it to come on or off but I just quit usin it now because no matter what I do I cant git it to come back on and unless its on, the torque converter wont lock out that's what I have at this point its just weird that I have to now stop and do a restart of engine to get it back to overdrive, especially when I need to go flyin on intersate, but it does good after restart, its random but now its doin more frequent I really thank you a lot for replying I honestly didn't expect 1 so soon if at all since my truck is dang near 16 years old I git piked on a lot down here for havin a ford but that usually stops when I blow by em and still climbin on the highway I love my truck I wana keepit!
I would start by repairing the wires in your column, and take it to somewhere that has a good scan tool that can read transmission codes if that doesn't fix it.
Thanks again Tom I'll do that I just ordered a new pigtail and button from dealership I'll see if it that's it thanks again I'll post ya as soon as I put it in
