AC problem

Hi Guys,
I have a 2000 F150 with the 5.4. Where is the AC low pressure switch? I need to jump it so I can refill the Freon.

See the HVAC FAQs. That is one of them.

You don't need to jump nothing. If you put a can into the low port, it will fill the entire system to 30-40 psi. Now start the truck and engage the air conditioner while putting in the second can. As long as the low side is over 25 psi, the compressor will run. If it kicks out, continue to dump in gas until the pressure builds up and compressor restarts.

Actually, it will pressurize the system up to the equalized pressure in the can.

Exactly.. and that is normally around 30 psi. When the system is off, if you put on a gauge you will read about 100 psi on the LO side and 100 psi on the HI side on a properly filled system.... everything will equalize as SHO89 said. Just dump in a can, then start the motor and run the AC.

No, it's determined by the TEMPERATURE of the refrigerant in the can (or container). Consult a Pressure/Temperature chart for R134a for typical values.
