AC trouble

Hi all,

My AC compressor failed so I replaced it.

I put in 1 can of R134, and I don't see the compressor cycling.

HOw do I remove the connector to the accumulator so I can jump it and force the AC to run.

Why do you think you need to jump the low pressure cutout? Understand what you are fighting rather than just throwing things at it. What are the suction and discharge pressures?

when a new compressor is installed, the first thing you do is connect a vacuum pump and pull out all the air. Air in the system will make the unit cool very poorly and you will have high discharge pressure on the pump...After pulling a vacuum, you can add 1 can of pressure. They system might build up to 30-40 psi on a gauge. Once you start the motor the low side will suck down below 25 psi and the pump low pressure switch will shut the unit down. Do not jump to force it to run. You need to add a second bottle of R134 to get the compressor to start up. The cans as 12 oz each. I don't know exact, but your system might hold 36 oz.... that would be 3 cans.... And you should have put refrig oil into the system either a separate can, or added in with a special can of R134... They make 14.5 oz cans that have 2.5 oz of oil, and 12 oz of R134.
