Engine found
I live on the gulf coast in Mississippi and I was looking at pick and pull yard (Barrys U Pull IT) this weekend, for those not on the coast its in Long Beach, I came across a 63 T-bird that still had the engine in it. No id tags anywhere but its a big block and has a stock 4bbl manifold on it. No carb but doesnt look like its been molested that much. I wanted to share the info with those that may want one. I am going to suspect that it could be a 390 and in that year they put out 300hp stock.
Have a great day.
But mounts can be found. Plus those early blocks did not have a cam plate to keep the cam into place.
The spring with a button is to keep pressure pushing on the inner front timing cover.
The intake and heads have the tall intake port runner. That should only be used together as a combo.
A few guys buy these intakes and find that the ports don't match up on 360 or later 390's heads.
And the early fe intake have the large thermostat & housing that had some troubles with it leaking cause the gasket sealing area is so narrow.
The early intake has the oil fill tube in the and no valve covers vents.
