Power steering conversion

Where is the best place to purchase all that is required to do a Toyota steering box install including all linkage? I have been reading some posts on this and other sites that a couple of places that were previously listed are now rip off artists.

I bought the pitman arm and heavy duty tie rod from CPP. I have not installed the parts yet, but they appear to be good quality, the prices seemed fair and I have not heard anything bad about them. Here's a link:

Did you have to wait long for the parts you ordered? They are one of the companies that have a few red flags on service. They also are listed by the BBB as having a tripple C rating. They do seem to have all I need but I was worried about being taken.

I received my parts in normal ground shipping time.

Anyone figured out a way to make that "ball and socket" pitman arm work with the "tapered"drag link our trucks use? Have all the parts gathered up to convert the 59 over only need a proper pitman .Am I missing something? What have you guys done? Mark

I bought a power steering kit from CPP. Great place, I'd purchase from them again.

I posted on the other steering box thread, but here i go again...I used a CPP kit and works great...if you have a factory 4WD, your steering shaft wont work with the rag joint they supply in the kit...you will need one from a 2wd (smaller diameter)..even with a big block, the box clears and fit and finish is top quality

In other news...i swapped to a Dana 60 front axle and can no longer use the factory drag link....building my own from a kit purchased from WFO concepts...just have to ream the pitman arm that came in the CPP kit and axle steering arm to match the taper on the tie rod ends that are used in the WFO kit

Caveman, where did you buy your power steering setup? Have you started installing it yet and have you run into any problems?
I ordered mine through Mid Fifties and will receive it on Monday. Saturday I will start taking my steering out.

I'm going to get my kit from Mid Fifties also just need to get some cash together. I just picked up my new/used front axle yesterday and need to wait a bit because I'm on a tight budget. The front axle wasn't what I expected when I got there. I thought I was going to get a dana 44 low pinion from a 1978-79 f250 but it was actually a high pinion from a highboy. Hope it works and clears everything with the 300 six engine I plane on installing.

Do you still have the steering arm off your 44? Mine has been welded to the bolts that hold it on, so I'm probably gonna destroy it trying to get it off(need to replace king pins & u-joints).
