Dash/gauges problems
My 1994 f150 xl is having dashboard malfunctions, the fuel gauge is pegged at full on both tanks, and battery voltage is pegged well below 8 volts, as well as intermittently the light for the brights doesn't come on, and the check engine light doesn't come on while the truck is in the on position on the ignition but engine off, and the battery light stays on when in the on position but engine off. Could all of these problems happening at the same time be from a fuse? Bad connections on the back of the dash? Should I remove the instrument cluster and clean and re-solder all the connection? Anyone else have this problem?

I did not replace the battery ground, but I don't think that's the problem as its on the two gauges not working and the CEL not staying on when the ignition is in the on position. I do plan on replacing the battery cables though so I may try replacing them at the same time as my dash, as I wish to find a factory tach instrument cluster to replace mine with

The fuel gauge pegged at full mark on both tanks says the fuel gauge circuit is open to ground. Both fuel tank gauge sending units are grounded at the drivers side (Left side ) radiator support at G100 (image below). G100 is at ground level because of the body ground at G101 in the post above.
G100:
The Voltage meter is grounded at G200.
G200 is at ground level because of the body ground at G101 in the post above.

The Hi Beam Indicator is grounded at G201.

G201:
The PCM Computer for the check engine light is grounded at G101 in the post above and at G104.
G104 is at ground level because of the body ground at G101 in the post above.

G101, G104, G200 & G201 are in the same place but G100 is in a different location by the drivers side head light.
G104 is a ground for your TECA and the TECA is also grounded at G101.
G100 is also the the ground for your fuel gauge sender.
G201 is the ground for the fuel tank selector switch as the fuel tank selector switch passes the ground through itself for the motor in the fuel tank selector valve.
G101 is also your body ground and a ground for other items such as the low vacuum switch.

Slosh modules are used in the vans an large RV's.
Most if not all pick-ups do not have slosh modules.
