I have recently added an Off. intake, Holley carb, etc... to my inline six. The stock throttle cable does reach the carb, but its a stretch, and some of the sharp turns are causing it to not release all the way (usually have to bounce my foot on the pedal to get it to kick back). Also, I had to modify the original peice of metal that held the end of the cable, since it bolted on to the original intake, but not the Offy.
Does anyone know of a cable that will work in this situation, and a real adpater to hold it in place (by the carb)?
i have the same setup as you and all i did was modify the stock throttle cable bracket and use a stock throttle cable. check out my pics here: www.codegrunts.com/~jsampsel/ol_blue.html
i bolted it to the rearmost of the two holes originally intended for the stock exhaust maifold.
Was your truck origionally a carbed? I think that a cable off of a 4.9 EFI will give you the extra reach you need. If this is not long enough, get a cable from a 5.0 EFI. That sucker's long.
