Dealer installed battery adventure

Last week I went to a Ford dealer here in Denver to have 2 new batteries installed. Was told it would take about an hour. About 45 minutes later, the service rep told me that the first battery install went fine but the mechanic could not get the cable off the terminal on the second battery. ( passenger side). I was told I needed a new battery cable harness at $695. I declined the cable, paid for the first battery and left. Came back next day, purchased a second battery and easily installed it myself. Yes there was some corrosion but I have replaced many batteries and cables over the years. I even showed it to another mechanic at another shop before I replaced it and the other shop laughed and said no reason to replace the cable. I left a scathing review on the dealer's Facebook page explaining that they lost a long time customer. That got the Service manager to call, explaining the "miscommunication" and apology, but made no effort to keep me as a customer...

...couldn't get the cable off? You might should be glad he didn't touch anything else, he might have found a way to do real damage. Must be a lube rack kid?

Some dealerships and just dirty like that...

This is why certain dealerships will never get my business. I'm fortunate that I have several reputable dealers in my area including one close by.

I had one I used to go to for everything. After my salesman retired
the "new" guy screwed me over so badly that when I went in to talk
to the sales manager I said. "Never ever call me again. In fact lose my number"
I walked out of there and tell everyone I know to avoid Titus Will Ford in Tacoma
for that mistreatment.

I will say that I still buy small parts from my parts guy that is still looking out for me.
But other than that I know I will never buy any vehicles from them EVER.

I just bought a battery cable (possitive)/harness from ficmrepair. Sure as heck wasn't 700 bucks--was a little over 100 with shipping.
