Hi I'm new here and i need some help. I got a 76 f250 with a 460 and 4 speed but the cluch went out on me about a month ago. I have it at the shop right now cause i don't have the time or knowledge to do it myself but i need help on where to find parts or what truck to take them off of. I found most of the stuff but i still need a bellhousing and linkage if you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated i miss driving my baby lol
Are you swapping your engine/transmission? Why can't you use the bell housing you already have? A clutch/pressure plate kit should be available from the auto parts store...

X2, the bellhousing isn't something that normally goes bad. In fact, I've only seen two bad bellhousings in over forty years (not counting the ones that were handgrenaded by an exploding clutch).
If there is a stripped bolt hole or something, these can be fixed with Helicoils. If the throwout fork pivot is bad, it can be replaced.
Hmm, sounds like the classic mechanic story to me.. Were you being harsh on it when the clutch went or has it been slipping or did it just go out with no warning?
I would tell them to match the parts numbers on the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and turn the flywheel if possible
Bill is right the 460 didn't get bolted to the 4 speed until the 80's and they likely have NO idea what they are talking about
