Wing Window Frame Replacement
Pictures because everyone loves pictures, including me.
I would get the frame and glass off the truck first and then carefully use a cut off wheel to cut the frame off the glass.
Cutting down the back side/middle of the frame to split it. I do not think you can just pull the frame off the glass.
Then get the wing frame installed and then hit up a glass shop for some of there super duper adhesive, and go from there.
You will need a very small pin punch to get the roll pin out, that holds the wing lock on.
I am going to go get you a complete pic of the wing bracket. BRB
Then there is a clip with one screw attaching the top part of the vent wing to the division bar and 4 rivets at the bottom.
I may try to get a glass shop to do the installation of the frame if I go there anyway to get some of their magic glue.
HIO, Paper? Oh that stuff... I do believe I have one somewhere.
Stand-By while I perform a manual search.
2. Remove the one bolt at the bottom of the division bar.
3. Remove the one screw at the top front edge.
4. Remove the division bar push in gasket form the bar itself. With the bottom bolt out the glass will be loose in there and you should be able to get the whole seal out.
Of course masking off the inside and out side of the wing area door frame area to prevent scratches.
The frame will pull out and then tilt it either in or out and remove the whole assembly.
And yes I would use a thin cut off blade and split the frame.
open the door
get a #2 and #3 philips screwdrivers and door panel popper and 7/16th socket on ratchet
remove 2 screws in door cup with #2 philips
remove 1 screw from window crank handle with #2 philips
remove 1 screw from door handle with #3 philips
remove door panel with popper or whatever you feel comfortable using
I dont know the "proper" way to remove the glass, what I do is unbolt the lower 7/16th" bolt on the vent window frame and undo the 3 screws holding the top of the frame on the top of the angled part of the door with a #2 philips, you will need a stubby for the lowest of the 3 screws. Then I loosen the 3 bolts holding the window crank assembly to the door(because with the age of these trucks most of these assemblies have been replaced, if theres no bolts then there are rivets holding the original assembly in place). Or actually I think I leave the upper bolt in loose and remove the other two. NOW I can manoeuvre the door glass off the track and set it in the bottom of the door out of the way. And move window track out of the way of removing vent window assembly.
Ok, so the glass is out of the way and you want to remove the vent window assembly BUT you won't be able to. The anti-rattle or lower horizontal window seals will prevent you from twisting the assembly out of the door because there is that right angle bracket that the lower 7/16th bolt threads into... So time for carefulness of removing those seals to prevent scratching the paint, and if you want to re-use the seals, but mostly these seals are hardened and not sealing very well. BOTH seals must be removed for the assembly to come out
ooh I'm getting tired now...
so anyway when the assembly is out then you can unbolt the frame from the frame like 77&79F250 says, oh and speaking him, what does he mean by the "division bar push in gasket", is that the vertical window channel seal on the vent window assembly perhaps?

OH, when the assembly is out and if the nut and spring look rusted then they should be soaked with penetrating oil so you dont snap the stud off with the nut still on it when you go to loosen it, and PAY attention to how tight the spring is before dissassenbly to try to match it when you put it back together, there needs to be a certain amount of pressure so its not floppy and not really really tight to turn the window open and closed
I did one of these a while ago and the window glass pulled right out of the old sealant from the frame. I had other assemblies to pull parts from though to make it all work again
hope this is somewhat helpful
