CB radio mounting

I have a 1987 F250 and I am looking at installing a CB radio. To me, the best location would be on the headliner since there is not much room anywhere else. Does anyone have an ideas or experiences with CB radios in this body style truck?

Ponykilr had a couple of threads about a decent way he did his, and then an even better upgrade. Here are the links to his threads, but they're pretty much useless because the pictures aren't there anymore. I'm including the links anyway in case he fixes them. I'm PMing him to see if he will, but it looks like he hasn't posted on here in a couple months, so I'm not holding my breath.

I had one mounted to the ceiling in my '90 F150. I just screwed it in place. The ceiling on these trucks is double-walled. Just make sure your screws are not too long.

When i bought my 88 f150 new my brother installed a custom made overhead console so it would hold the cb and the aftermarket radio.
the po of my 95 f250 had the motorola unit that bolted behind the seat and all you had out front was the mic

If you click on one of the photo place holders, it will take you to his Photobucket account, which is public... Click on the main link (in blue, upper left) and then find his "f350" album... The photos you want are on page 4... Of course, you can simply click here- F350 by pony kilr | Photobucket

Didn't understand how he did it till looking at the pictures. That's actually really clever and pretty smart. I wanted to get the overhead shelf and mount it up there but might give that a shot now. Save some money at least

I put mine on the ashtray(1989). Of course it is heavy enough the tray won't stay closed, but it is out of the way. It is a Uniden 66 which is not a large unit.

I do like the bracket on the roof though.
