OK, after sleeping on it I just was not satisfied with my bracket setup. I had to use some 1.5" spacers to get from my bracket to the radio bracket. It just does not look professional to me.
Last night while trying to sleep, it hit me...radio bracket built into the mount...DUH!
So I took some measurements and decided to raise the radio 1/2" and move it toward the windshield 1". I started by cutting another piece of 1/8" aluminum 3" by 17". I cut some radio brackets into it, cut them to length and bent them between 2 pieces of oak in my vise.
Some holes drilled to line up with the visor clips and a couple for the radio mount screws and it was done.
Then I primed it with etching primer and painted it. I decided on black even though I have the correct blue. It just seemed to go with the radio better.
I would need the dimensions of your radio and I would need to know if the mount hole of the radio is centered. I also would need to verify that your visor clip screws are 15-1/8" on center. I would say I could do some for $30 shipped. This would be primed and ready to paint. If anyone is interested PM me, not sure about rules here about this sort of stuff.
Well, I thought you did a great job with the first one, and I never noticed the washers as spacers. (Although, I do see them now that I'm looking for them.) However, I think you've really done it right this time! That thing looks like it was meant to be there or professionally made by an aftermarket company just specifically for this. Great job!! Keep up the good work!

I know they look like washers brother Steve but they actually are solid spacers which are grooved. You always have something nice to say and I appreciate you.
I mounted my cb there in my dump truck. No headliner so i used self drilling screws. They didnt hold so i welded the bravket to tbe roof. I angled the cb towards the drivers side 20-30 degrees to make ot easier to see.
