Question 67 Ford 352 2bbl Carb replacement:

Hey there,
I have a 67 Ford 352 2bbl Carb and looking to replace the carb, I have tried
a rebuild but didnt work well and after a few years seemed to stop working.

Anyways I am looking for a 2bbl replacement the carburetor its a large carb but the intake has two holes so why the carb is as big as a 4bbl the Carb and Intake are both 2bbl. I am looking for a replacement. The truck is being stored so do not have the carb make and model. But hopefully the info I provided will get me an answer. Or more help .

Thanks

Actually you're really supposed to go through our "marketplace" for something like this. But I do have a Holley Super Deuce 500 CFM carb. PM me if interested.

Hi there

Hi actually I was looking for advice on what would fit the two barrel intake I have on the 352 ?
Sorry if it sounds like I was looking to buy from someone, I am unsure what Carbs work well on this engine, had the truck along time even put a new long block 352 I found in Portland ( lucky me) . But I only rebuilt the original carb that just does not seem to work at all anymore so wonder what works to replace it.

Hi there I did a rebuilt 6 years ago when I put the motor in worked ok for awhile but the seems their is no more air adjustment on the carb, At some point it must have been over tightened. I rebuilt it because it was doing what it does now which is it wont even start and stay running unless the choke is wide open like the engine is starving.

Checked the obvious stuff like Fuel pump and filter. The jets seem to be working and look normal . Its been parked since the last car show two years ago and I hate seeing it sit.

Carb may not necessarily be the problem. 1st I'd check point gap (dwell) and the engine timing. And make sure the coil is putting out a strong bluish spark. Sounds to me like your 352 needs a good ol' tune up. Maybe a carb overhaul. Pull a few spark plugs and read them. Buy a vacuum gauge and put it on your running motor to see what that tells you.

What you mentioned was replaced unfortunately, and timing I am sure is dead on as well. There is not allot to check on these trucks basically other then carb all operates as it should.

I may just grab another carb kit and see if I can get it cleaned up.
I will try that then maybe post back here see where it leads me.

Thanks for the help.

The carb kit is the same for all, but 1970/74's have a choke pull-off diaphragm located in the top of the airhorn, it does not come in the kit.

Thank You its appreciated I will check those kits.

Just for anyone that might wonder I have a Petronics setup instead of points and
and allot of very heavy duty parts. Even put a Marine grade starter on it I had custom built. Tried to put nothing but good parts so she runs and drives well. But this carb thing has me puzzled but I will give it a go again thank you all for the help .
