Guys,
This is my Panel truck. I spent some time to get the metal off of the original metal. Does anyone make any kind of patch panel for the rear of a Panel Truck?
Trying to save my body man a lot of work. Luckily, I married his daughter and gives me a good rate, free.
No one makes the parts you're looking for. As for using conventional truck parts like the back fender wheel openings, the panels are completely different than the pickups. Tell you F-I-L that you challenge he to build the panels. I personally think it would be easier to build the panel from scratch than to try to fix that mess. The only other alternative is to find a person with a panel with good quarters but that's going to be an even bigger challenge.
Guys,
Thanks for the replies. I kind of thought nobody made patch panels for these things. I think you have posted that before, Bob. Luckily, my father in law is a very talented metal repair guy.
Looks like we have a lot of metal work to do.
This could be a good candidate, but not for $3,500.00. One of the rear doors is missing, about as common as hen's teeth. I don't have that in my Panel truck and it has all the doors and an running engine and tranny.
I couldn't sell it here as is so I sold just the rear doors and tripled what I paid for it. It has new reproduced window regulators. It's a decent start for someone but everyone around here is spoiled. Everyone wants a complete vehicle that barely needs any work. Plus people are cheap. I make more parting it than selling it whole. It needs a frame because the front half is cut off.
