Help
with a delete can lead to increased risk of bellows cracking.
To do the stealth delete you have to weld both ends. That way
you don't have any worry about coolant getting out of the EGR cooler
into the intake or out through the exhaust.
I think the cost sort of would work out the same or a bit less for
welding the ends shut.
The reason for the CEL light coming on is that the PCM is looking for
a change in the IA2 sensor's reported temp as the EGR valve opens
and if there is no flow from the cooler of the hot gasses then it will
set a CEL. That is the reason for the tuner. Also you want to keep the
EGR valve plugged in. Has to do with the cooling fan operation.
The best place to store it is right where it would be on a non-deleted
engine.

EDIT : I just looked and for the price of that kit you could more than
pay to have a shop weld the old cooler up and still have funds left for
the beer to drink when you install the cooler.
Now for the best part, the eot and ect temps are better than I've ever had, they are staying mostly 0-3 deg with an occasional 6 deg diff. And better yet no more coolant out the degas bottle when towing. Correct me if I'm seeing this wrong but if temps stay this way there is no reason to replace oil cooler.
My cel was on until today it just shut off, not sure if it will come back on or not, might get a tuner if it comes back on.
